There goes my mind wandering again! I was over at "Coopers Wife" and admiring her beautiful pantry, I have wanted a pantry since I could remember and it definitely would come in handy for me now as I buy a lot of bulk foods.
The question is.......how would an exposed pantry look and function in a newly remodeled kitchen. I also have dreams of moving from our little sweet home we live in now to a small and cozy home in the country.....but that's just dreams.
So for now my mind is a tick tocking away at how I could create a pantry in our small kitchen and still have it look nice but yet functional.
Here is the wall that I am considering putting up some sturdy shelves to create a built in look for an exposed pantry. What ya'll think? Suggestions are welcomed and much appreciated
Could that back wall work as a pantry?
God Bless You All!

I think that it could so longs as the storage is neat and organized. I actually store alot of my bulk foods in plain site in my kitchen.
I use the tops of my cabinets to store grains in glass jars and canisters. All of the different varieties of beans add color and encourage me to cook from scratch rather than to purchase processed foods.
Once you decide, I would definitely like to see pictures of your pantry.
I agree with Hadias - with glass jars and canisters you could make it look really good.
I think that wall would be perfect for an open pantry and Cooper's Wife has given you great inspiration.
Have enjoyed my visit to your blog.

Hi Mrs. Monise!
I need to change my bloglines address for you!
I think an open pantry would look wonderful in that spot. Can't wait to see what you have planned.
I would love to have a pantry! i don't think an open one would work for me though, it would stay a mess! I did take a peek at link you gave and that really is a beautiful pantry!
much love,

Ladies thanks for all the wonderful ideas! I think that an open pantry for me might not be too good of an idea.....it probably will end up a mess...Yikes!
I did not think about the idea of using canisters to hold some of my bulk items and place then neatly on top of my cabinets.
Great ideas ladies! I wish I could take pictures to show you all the progress I have made with my spring cleaning and with my kitchen but I can't seem to find my camera???? My basement/family room is in total chaos, so hopefully as I take my time going through mountains of stuff that has piled up over 6 years, I will hopefully find it!
God Bless You All!
That wall looks like a great spot for a pantry. Two things came to mind as I was reading. Light & dust. I would put up a nice curtain of some sort to help keep dust out and to protect things that may be sensitive to light protected.
Anna---1st time visiting
I actually have some open shelves where I store herbs, spices, and other cooking aides. It looks great when it is neat. =)
It is sort of a country kitchen though. I think it would depend on your style.
